St. Patrick's Day ... 2 weeks late ...

Normally ... my Mom's Spring Break falls on the same week as my kiddos Spring Break.

They have been the same since Breeanna entered kindergarten 5 years ago.

And for the past 5 years ... my kiddos have went down to visit Grammy J. and Papa Gene during Spring Break.

They kids got to have some "special time" during Spring Break ...

My parents got to "loose their mind" during Spring Break ...

And I got some "me time" during Spring Break!!!

It was a win win situation for all of us.

Until this year ...

My kiddos Spring Break was the week of the 17th ...

And my Mom's was the week after.

Anyways ...

My Mom has started this little "tradition" on St. Patrick's Day with my kiddos.

Every year the kids set out some "gold" ...

And one year they even made a "trap" ...

In hopes of a leperchaun stopping by to leave them something.

Normally the leperchaun has left them "gold" (aka: cholocate in gold wrappers), "gold necklaces" (aka: gold beaded necklace from the $1.00 store), pennies and he has even left a leperchaun cake in the past.

Yeah ... pretty thoughtful leperchaun!!!

This year ... the kids were at home ... and I had NO IDEA that they were trying to score some more goodies from the leperchaun ...

Until 9:30 at night ...

When I heard Eythen say, "I sure hope the leperchaun likes the gold I left him!"

SH*T!!!

"Where did you leave the gold this year Eythen?"

"I put some pennies outside for him to see.  They are all of my pennies.  The girls wanted to keep theirs ... so I told them that the leperchaun could have mine.  Harleigh made him a ladder so he can reach the pennies."

I quickly put the kids to bed.

Notified Clint that we had to come up with some "treasure" ASAP!!!

Two minutes later I go outside ...

And this is what I find ...

At least Harleigh informed the leperchaun what to do once he got to the handmade ladder.  Other wise he may never have known what to do!!!

Eythen left 3 gold pennies for the leperchaun.

One for himself ...

One for Harleigh ...

And one for Breeanna.

Good thing the gas station is open 24 hours in Eudora!!!

Otherwise the leperchaun might not have been able to leave anything.

The Marvelous Room Cleaning Machine ...

Before I start this blog ... I would just like to throw out there ... that this blog is way late.

Like ... a month late.

Bad Mommy Blogger ... I know!!!

In honor of Dr. Seuss birthday ... Eythen's kindergarten class was required to create a "Marvelous Room Cleaning Machine" of their own.

They came home with this piece of paper (see photo below) requesting that they draw their Marvelous Room Cleaning Machine on the piece of paper ... and then make one of their own.

Eythen suggested that he just draw a photo of me ...

Clever ...

He is just so darn clever ...

*sigh*

I was kind of thinking that it would be something "small" and "cute" and "convient"!!!

You know ...

Like the size of a dust buster!!!

Clint on the other hand ...

Veto'd my idea immediately of "small" and "cute" and "convient" ...

Eythen and Daddy had a WHOLE different idea brewing in their heads ...

And it had NOTHING to do with Mommy ...

OR ...

"small" and "cute" and "convient"

Clint ...

And Eythen ...

Thought BIGGER WAS BETTER.

It took alot of time ...

And concentration ...

And planning ....

But Eythen and his Daddy completed the Marvelous Room Cleaning Machine.

They are both firm believers ...

That you either GO BIG OR GO HOME.

Me on the other hand ...

Still thought that  "small" and "cute" and "convient" was a good thing.

I had visions of my son taking someout out as he was walking down the hallway of his school ...

While taking his Marvelous Room Cleaning Machine to his classroom.

Or thinking that it would be a "good idea" to try to suck up the principal with his Marvelous Room Cleaning Machine.

Or attempting to use the EXTREMELY long tube as a bat while sitting in line waiting for the school bell to ring.

So Mommy escorted Eythen and his GO BIG OR GO HOME Marvelous Room Cleaning Machine to the kindergarten classroom ...

Just to be on the safe side.

Time for change ...

It is that time of year ... that I need a change.

I need to do something that will get me out of the "winter blues" ...

So I started off with some Spring cleaning.  I went through all of the kids closets ... and pulled out the winter stuff that I knew would not fit next year.

Which filled up 4 large boxes of clothing.

Then I went through the boxes of Spring clothing ... in hopes of pulling them out ... and placing them in the closet for the up coming warm season.  But ... everything that I pulled out and asked one of the kids to try on ... kept going right back into the box ... because it did not fit.

When that "mission" was all done ... not ONE SINGLE piece of clothing came out of the box ... and stayed out of the box.

NOT. ONE. PIECE. FIT.

I have never had one season come along ... and NOTHING fit ONE single kid.

NEVER!

So ... that "mission" did not help me OR the check book out ALL AT.

So I then directed my Spring cleaning towards my house.  I scrubbed every inch of this house.  I even sat down on the floor ... and worked my way up and down every single base board in the house.  I even scrubbed the bathroom and kitchen floors BY HAND.

But then ... two days later ... one kid spilt juice on my kitchen floor ... and the dog decided to pee on the bathroom floor ... so that did not help me out either.

The only thing left is either get another body piercing, hair extensions, a tatoo, go on a vacation to Jamaica, be put on prozac or eat a tube of oatmeal cookie dough in one setting.

Until I decide what I am gonna do ... I will just change the background to my blog.

Stupid shoes ...

WARNING!!!

Tripping over a pair of Twinkle Toe shoes in the middle of the night might cause cause one of two things to happen ...

A) The sudden "impact" that your feet just encountered might scare the pee out of you.

or ...

B) The sudden "light show" might startle you ...

and cause you to think electricity is shooting out of the floor.

Which might possibly cause you to jump around for a few seconds while waving your arms ...

Until you completely wake up and realize your daughter did not pick up her darn shoes.

Either way ... your will be embarrassed.

Houston ... we have a problem ...

Problem #1:  Eythen outgrew every single piece of Spring/Summer clothing.

Problem #2:  Harleigh outgrew every single piece of Spring/Summer clothing.

Problem #3:  Breeanna outgrew every single piece of Spring/Summer clothing.

Solution:  One major shopping spree.

Problem #4:  Clint handing over the checkbook.

Let's bow our heads ...

Our Father, who art in Lawrence, Hallowed be thy Game.

Thy Tourney come, thy Championship will be done, in Houston as it is in Allen Field House.

Give us this day, our deserved victory ... & forgive us our turnovers, as we forgave Roy, who double-crossed against us.

Lead us not into defeat, but deliver us from the East Coast Bias.

For Kansas is the Basketball Kingdom, & the Tradition, & the Glory forever & ever.

Amen

One thing that I have learned ...

over these past few years ...

Is that there is no such thing as good luck or bad luck ...

Just God's blessings and lessons.

So sorry ...

I just wanna apologize now to the future Mrs. Eythen Moore.

I have no explanation ...

For some of his actions ...

Hopefully he out grows the whole ... "playing with his food" ... stage ... by the time he hits college.

On the flip side ...

He is very creative ...

And amazing at every sport he has ever attempte in the short 6 years of his life ...

He does have high hopes of becoming a farmer when he grows up ...

Or a cowboy ...

And if those options do not work out ...

There is always the "Super Hero" option.

Unfortunately ...

He has a way of sweet talking the ladies into doing anything for him ...

And he does things at his own "convience" ...

And FORGET about carrying on a conversation with him at times ...

Because he has a way of  "blocking people out" when they are 2 feet away from him ...

When he is busy Playing Mario World ...

Most of the time he is "just to busy" to clean his room ...

Good news is ...

He is a sharper dresser ...

And has a killer smile ...

Let the madness begin ...

We interupt this regularly scheduled blogging post from Life According to a SAHM ... because today is officially the first day of March Madness!

*yipee*

I LOVE March Madness!

I hate football ... but I LOVE college basketball.

I kind of think that March Madness should be a national holiday.

Presents and beer for everyone!!!

I do not think anyone should be at work on game day.  It is just not right.  DVR'ing a game ... or listening to it on the radio while you are "suspose" to be working ... that is just plain crazy talk.

Who should have to do that???

Well ... OK ... Missouri fans should have to ... but that is beside the point.

But no one else should have to suffer through March Madness like that.

It is just not healthy.

It really isn't.

I wonder who I should talk to about getting these days put on the calendar for 2012???

Honestly ... Clint's and my marriage will be put on hold until the buzzer goes off ...

And KU is cutting down the net ...

While the song "One Shining Moment" is being played ...

After the National Championship game in Houston.

*fingers crossed*

Rock Chalk!!!  GO KU!!!  Yes ... I put in a shamless plug right there for the most amazing college basketball team out there.  No need to judge me ... it is my blog after all.  *wink*

If you are a KU fan ... click on the link below and vote for my blog.  From one KU fan to another ... help a girl out!!!  If you are not a KU fan ... I am sorry your team will not be taking home the National Championship this year ... but you can still vote for my blog.  *smile*
